Beautiful cool pictures of nature - These images remind us to what extent to contemplate nature can leave us breathless.
The impressive capture of fox violence has earned Don Gut
ski the best nature photographer award of 2015, as announced by the Natural
History Museum in London, which awards this award each year.
His Tale of Two Foxes managed to win over the judges, who
selected this shot from 42,000 others from 96 countries. The image shows a red
fox eating its prey, a bloodied Arctic fox, in Cape Churchill, Canada.
Highlighted as "a beautiful and disturbing portrait of
the struggle for life in sub-Arctic climates", the photo will form the
centerpiece of an exhibition that begins this Friday, October 16, at the London
museum.
The award for best young photographer was awarded to Andrej Plane,
14, for Fighting Ruffs (Combatants), which captures the exhibition of courtship
of these birds with all their plumage.
Among the photographers who have gained recognition, for Broken Cats, a sad image of several felines who have had her claws
and fangs ripped off in a Chinese circus, and Michael AW, by A Whale Of A
Mouthful, which shows a Bride racial gobbling sardines off the coast of South
Africa.
